Butterfly Gala Card and September Host Code

Sunday, September 1st, 2019

September First – time for a new Host Code Special. The Host Code for September is MVT9P3KG – this code is valid through September 28th. If you place an order using this code I’ll send you a free gift next month – the Assorted Googly Eyes from the Holiday Catalog. For more info on how to use the Host Code click HERE.

This card above uses the beautiful stamp set called Butterfly Gala. There are four pairs of butterfly designs and a solid background stamp for the butterflies. They coordinate with the Butterfly Duet Punch for a quick and easy way to stamp, adorn and cut out 2 butterflies at a time (large and small). I am also in love with the mixed font sentiments in the set. I think you will love it too.

This design shows 3 different ways to use the butterfly image – top left is stamped directly on the card, detail image only, no background color. The small center butterfly is stamped with both layers and punched out, and the bottom right butterfly is stamped with both layers, punched, and placed on top of another butterfly punched (not stamped) from Flirty Flamingo cardstock. You will note I accidentally used Flirty Flamingo & Grapefruit Grove ink – by mistake – but I’m not mad and the result 🙂

The enamel dots are retired, but there are other options in our current catalog.

We are just a few days away from the Holiday Catalog going live! (starts September 4th) If you placed an order with me in the past few months you will have already received your catalog in the mail from me. If not, send me an email and I’ll get one out to you within the week. Beginning September 4th you can also view the catalog from my website (see the “catalog” tab)

Shopping starts on September 4th!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you are enjoying a lovely 3 day Labor Day Weekend.

Sending you sunshine and smiles,

Wild Rose Birthday Card

Monday, June 24th, 2019

I love this new stamp set from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog called To A Wild Rose!

Sold individually or as a Bundle (10% Savings with the Bundle) the stamp set includes 3 overlapping images to create the beautiful “DistINKtive” rose and includes several large script words and phrases. Such a beautiful set. The Wild Rose Dies complete the bundle with outlines to crop the rose and leaves, along with a large label and decorative element.

Wild Rose Dies

The sentiment was stamped with Highland Heather ink onto a label punched using the Story Label Punch. Behind that I used the Wild Rose Dies to cut the Tranquil Tide larger label. You will see the decorative element die used on the inside of my card.

I pulled in the retired Needle & Thread stamp set for my inside greeting and Humming Along for my front sentiment. If you are like me, even though a set retires, you will still continue to stamp with it.

I hope you enjoyed this card – I think if you give the To A Wild Rose stamp set a try you will absolutely love it as much as I do.

Thank you for stopping by.

Lovely Lattice (FREE during Sale-A-Bration)

Sunday, January 6th, 2019

Sale A Bration has started and it is my favorite StampinUp promotion every year. The Lovely Lattice stamp set used above is one of the choices you can earn FREE with a $50 purchase. This stamp set does not have any sentiments, I combined other stamp sets on my cards.

I used the rich color Tranquil Tide as my card base with matching ribbon. To color the image I did some simple water-coloring with my ink pads and an Aqua Painter brush.

The sentiments are from two different stamp sets, both are new in the 2019 Occasions Catalog – Amazing Life and Humming Along.

January is full of new products and choices with both the Occasions Catalog and Sale A Bration promotion starting – so fun! If you would like either of the new catalogs sent to you send me an email –

Making Christmas Bright

Thursday, December 27th, 2018

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  I sure did.  I’m so grateful to family, friends and my StampinUp friends that helped make it a special time of year.  I so enjoy receiving hand stamped cards in the mail!

Here is the design I chose for most of my cards this year.  I used the Making Christmas Bright Bundle which includes the coordinating Christmas Bulb Builder Punch – so fun!

Making Christmas Bright Bundle

StampinUp catalogs have a neat feature – they often offer Card Stock Packs that coordinate with various product suites or bundles.  I used the All is Bright Cardstock Pack which includes 8 each of Real Red, Call Me Clover and Shaded Spruce cardstock – that set my color pallet and all card bases.

If you turn to page 6 of the Holiday Catalog you will see my inspiration for this card – I only made minor changes from the sample StampinUp provided – what a great resource our catalogs are.

Then on to the fun stamping.  I brought in a great tool to help me stamp several cards – the Stamparatus.  Here is my tip for using this wonderful tool.  Don’t stamp too close to the hinges, it’s harder to get a good image.  For this card, I marked my grid paper where I wanted to place my Whisper White Cardstock so I could get every card in the perfect alignment.  It was a great time saver.  SIDE NOTE:  If you do get a not so perfect stamped image, the Stamparatus lets you easily re-stamp with perfect alignment so you can fix boo-boos like magic!  I love it.

What does not show up in my photos is the glistening white bulbs and the shiny base of the “bright” bulb punch out.  I used Wink of Stella for this effect, it’s very pretty in real life.

I tried a few different color combinations, but they were all pretty much the same.  For my inside sentiment I pulled out a retired stamp set called Christmas Cardinal.  The falling stars are from the same Making Christmas Bright stamp set I used on the front.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and for your continued support of my StampinUp business.  I appreciate you all so very much.

All products can be purchased from my online store, see product list below.

Onstage Swap Cards

Monday, November 19th, 2018

I loved all the beautiful swaps I received from demonstrators at OnStage!

How amazing are all these cards?  Last week I had the wonderful privilege of attending OnStage in Orlando, Florida to celebrate StampinUp’s 30th Anniversary!  I believe there were over 6,000 Demonstrators there, from around the world.  StampinUp spoiled us with so many wonderful gifts and free stamp sets – I’ll share those with you next time.

I will highlight some of my favorite swaps I received in the coming weeks.  But for now, let me share with you one the two designs I created to share with my fellow demonstrators.

Miss You – Swap #1:

Here is my first swap – I used the Hand Delivered Stamp Set which is a lot of fun because the girl can be holding a sign (as I did), or balloons, a tall cake, or a stack of books.  It’s a photopolymer set so you can easily line up the 2-Step Stampin images.  She’s in the very back of the annual catalog, on page 229 – a Host Set.  If you are not familiar with Host Sets, these are items you can purchase only with Host Rewards, meaning for orders over $150.  So if you have a large wish list, or a group of friends that order together, or if you would like me to come by and teach a stamp class at your house with your friends, you can earn Host Rewards.  You’ll see more information about Host Rewards here.

I only made about 35 of each design, but you can see the process here.  I always design one start to finish, then break it down into steps and complete the others in assembly line fashion.

You can see here that I first cut all my cardstock, then assembled the base.  Next I did all my stamping, and lastly I cut out the signs, assembled, added dimensionals on the accent pieces, and finished with embellishments.

Here are the rest of the supplies used on this card.

Sending Well Wishes

Monday, September 24th, 2018

The lovely Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set made it’s debut in this year’s Annual Catalog (see page 118) and it quickly be came a favorite of mine.

Dandelion Wishes to send Well Wishes

The base of my card is the retired color Marina Mist card stock.  As StampinUp Demonstrators, we tend to shy away from posting projects with retired products, but if you are anything like me, these products don’t magically disappear from your stamp supplies when they retire.  We still love them and enjoy using them.  So, I trust you’ll forgive me if I occasionally use a retired product or two – as long as I identify it as such.

You will note that the Balmy Blue ink I used to stamp my sentiment is a very close match – enough so that if I had not mentioned it – I wonder if you would have noticed they are not the same color!  🙂

For the sentiment I used the very versatile and must have framelits called Stitched Shapes.  This set of 12 dies (4 each of circles, ovals and squares) each have a stitched outline detail that adds so much to your projects.

At the bottom of my card I used a strip of the Garden Impression Designer Series Paper (a very convenient 6×6 stack of 48 sheets).  The Night of Navy mat behind the dandelion ties in with this paper nicely.

A fairly simple card, here are the products used, with links to purchase from my online store:

Especially For You

Monday, August 27th, 2018

The BOTANICAL BLISS Bundle was used on this card, full of lovely details.  The bundle (found on page 20 of the annual catalog) includes the Botanical Bliss Stamp Set and Botanical Tags Thinlints Dies.

Botanical Bliss Bundle

Set on a card base of Coastal Cabana, I used the Tag Thinlits to create my focal point, cut from a Copper Foil Sheet.  Other accent pieces were created with the same set of Botanical Thinlits Dies and the Pretty Label Punch.  A small strip of Burlap Ribbon adds a nice contrast in textures.

The new Detailed Trio Punch (found on page 211 of the Annual Catalog) came in handy for easy rounding of the corners.  Below are all the products used on this project, and links to purchase from my online store.
